46e CONGRES DE LA SOCIETE HERPETOLOGIQUE DE FRANCE Le 46ème congrès de la Société Herpétologique de France s'est tenu à Carnoules, Provence, PACA, du 11 au 13 octobre 2018. La SHF a pour buts de faciliter les rapports entre herpétologistes francophones, d'améliorer les connaissances, la conservation, l'élevage à des fins scientifiques des reptiles et amphibiens. La SOPTOM, co-organisatrice (Station d'Observation et de Protection des Tortues des Maures) est à l'origine du nouveau Village des Tortues de Carnoules (après Gonfaron). Son sujet d'études est la tortue d'Hermann et la cistude d'Europe, elle intervient aussi à Madagascar pour la tortue rayonnée et au Sénégal pour la tortue sillonnée (Sulcata). Je vais fêter en 2019 mes 30 ans d'adhésion à la SHF... Je suis resté une dizaine d'années dans chacun des deux Conseils d'Administration, SHF et SOPTOM, avec une activité pérenne dans la Commission Cistude. Pour moi, un congrès, ce sont d'abord des retrouvailles avec les anciens, ce que je suis devenu désormais... En second, le travail de communications des jeunes générations d'herpétologues et leur prise des responsabilités. En effet, ceux qui, si longtemps, en majorité des universitaires et des chercheurs, CNRS, INRA... portaient l'association, ont passé la main et c'est bien ainsi, "Place aux jeunes et aux femmes travailleuses..." comme disait Léon Trotsky ! J'ai donc eu beaucoup de plaisir à bavarder avec les participants, à suivre le programme des communications et y participer, ainsi qu'à la commission Cistudes, dans un cadre très agréable, grâce à l'accueil du maire de Carnoules, visiter le nouveau village et profiter du repas festif... La SHF et la SOPTOM et les congrès qu'elles organisent ont été mes écoles d'apprentissage en Herpétologie... Après tant d'années, beaucoup d'émotions à retrouver Bernard Devaux, Frank Bonin, Antoine Cadi, tous les ami(e)s de la SOPTOM... Donc, beaucoup de photos de cet évènement. Le Comité de rédaction du PNA (Plan National d'Actions) n°2, s'est réuni, je communique ici le compte-rendu qui, à travers la discussion et les décisions, offre une possible référence à tous ceux qui entendent poursuivre les actions de conservation. Les contributions sont les bienvenues que nous ferons suivre et bien d'autres informations à lire, dans cette 30ème Lettre, touchant notre espèce emblématique... 46th CONGRESS OF THE FRENCH HERPETOLOGICAL SOCIETY The 46th Congress of the French Herpetological Society was held at Carnoules, Provence, PACA, from the 11th to the 13th of October 2018. The goals of the FHS are: to make easier the relations between French-speaking people, to increase the knowledge, the conservation, the breeding of reptilians and amphibians for scientific aims.The new Village of Turtles of Carnoules (before it was Gonfaron) has its origins in the SOPTOM, coorganizer of the Congress (Observation and Protection Station of the Moorish Turtles). Its studied purposes are Hermann turtle and Emys orbicularis turtle. They interfere also with Madagascar for the radiated tortoise and with Senegal for the african spurred tortoise. I will celebrate in 2019 my 30 years of membership with FHS... I stayed about ten years in each of the two boards of directors, FHS and SOPTOM, with a permanent activity in the Emys Group. For me a Congress is first a reunion with the elders, I became one of them from now on... And second, the communications of the young generation of herpetologists and the face up to their responsabilities. In fact those who, during a so long time, mostly academics and researchers of CNRS, INRA... bore the Association, stepped down and it's better liket his: "Make way for the young and the working women" as said Leon Trotsky! I had a lot of pleasure to chatter with the participants, to follow the programme of the communications, to be involved, as soon as in the Emys committee, in very pleasant surroundings, thanks to the reception of the mayor of Carnoules, to visit the new Village of Turtles and have there the festive diner. The HFS and the SOPTOM and the Congress they organized have been my learning schools of Herpetology... After such a long time, a lot of emotion to find again Bernard Devaux, Frank Bonin, Antoine Cadi and all the friends of the SOPTOM... So a lot of photos of this event. The committee of redaction of the PNA (National Action Plan) n°2 met, I announce in this letter the report through wich the dicussions and the decisions give the possibilities of references to those who want to reinforce their actions of conservation.
